Number one

I'm starting a blog... or should I say, I'm starting to blog? What is the proper way of saying it? Didn't know that this blogging tool of a website can seem to be too complicated, what with the seemingly endless choice of options for designs, add ons and whatnots. I do not even understand what most can do but I'm giving myself time. I'm sure with a little (will that take years?) practice, this blog tool can be my best friend.

Just like when I discovered facebook. It took me sometime to discover the various functionalities and now, a day won't pass when I won't access it, whether from my computer or my phone.

Now why do I want to blog? What do i want to blog about? I look at the blogs which I often encounter - most, if not all of them are really about the blogger's (oh I'm getting the hang of it, a little) personal experiences - yes it can be anything under the sun but it definitely isn't fiction. There are a lot of things that I can write about based on my personal experience - but it somehow makes me wonder, do I really want to tell the whole cyber world my stories? Do I want to broadcast happenings in my life which include family, friends, enemies and even strangers? Shall I use a pseudonym? Shall I change the characters' names to sort of, protect their identities? Carrie Bradshaw used her friends' real names in her newspaper column about sex - but then again Carrie and her world is fiction.

I used to write feature articles in college.  I was assigned to write anything "newsworthy"  happening inside the campus, or  any matter which can be of interest to the reading public (aka  students from the different colleges in the Univ);   there was nothing personal in what i wrote for obvious reasons.   So this is really new territory which i think i will enjoy very much.

I already have an idea of what topics I will probably blog about, and I must admit that it is something that will not make me expose my personal life that much though I know the time will come when I have to narrate situations, even mention names, etc. I will probably need to read more about blogging to guide me, but what do you know, I am on my fourth or is it fifth paragraph already (told you I'm still getting used to this blog box and my iPad is not helping that much). Yes I definitely have to do my homework while I'm blogging already.

My blog title says it all. Welcome to my very first blog . . . Hopefully the start of a wonderful relationship with the keypad and everything nice.
